The New York City Biometric Identifier Information Law (NYC Administrative Code § 22-1202) applies to commercial establishments in New York City that collect, retain, convert, store, or share biometric identifier information.
Safience does not operate as a commercial establishment. Biometrica Systems, Inc. (doing business as Safience) does not own or operate retail, hospitality, or entertainment venues. Direct UMbRA access is provided to law enforcement, quasi-law enforcement, and critical infrastructure facilities for public safety, criminal investigations, and victim recovery.
Safience may provide RTIS and RVIS alerts to stadiums, hotels, universities, hospitals, or other critical infrastructure within New York City. Those alerts are for public safety, victim identification, trespass prevention, and other lawful security functions.
Facilities do not receive direct access to UMbRA, biometric identifiers, or face-matching tools. They receive only human-verified, relevance-based alerts, not biometric data.
Non-matches are deleted instantly. Human review is required before any action is taken on a match. No video is processed. The platform performs identification for a lawful purpose, never persistent tracking of the public.
