The Cause

Real-Time Support for Gang Units, Task Forces, and Organized Crime Investigations

Without Mass Surveillance

This Is Why We Do What We Do

From neighborhood crews to transnational criminal organizations, gang activity is one of the most dynamic and dangerous public safety challenges law enforcement faces today.

Safience helps gang units and task forces detect, compare, analyze, and share intelligence — while respecting community trust and privacy.

Whether it’s organized street gangs, outlaw motorcycle gangs (OMGs), prison gangs, white nationalist and other domestic extremist gangs, transnational crime groups, or juvenile gang activity, Safience’s tools provide fast, privacy-first, real-time investigative support — without mass surveillance or biometric data storage.

Detect. Compare. Analyze. Inform.

Your Challenge

Safience's Solution

Unknown suspects, false IDs, cross-jurisdictional cases

Instant image comparison against UMbRA's 41M+ records + QAPLA and via RTIS alerts

Real-time alerts on gang members entering a facility or crossing jurisdictions

Receive human-verified alerts in under 1 minute

Identify absconders or parole/probation violators

Match against real-time probation, parole, and warrant data

Nicknames, aliases, and street names complicate searches

Text-search capabilities across known monikers, AKAs, and alias fields

Risk of tipping off suspects

Passive detection without requiring contact or interaction

Limited resources

Acts as a force multiplier, saving investigators valuable time and improving operational intelligence

Need for secure, private information sharing

Fully auditable, credentialed-only, law enforcement-restricted access with no public exposure

Why Gang Units Choose Safience

  • Real-time alerts without compromising investigations or officer safety through RTIS
  • Fast, sub-5 second field searches with UMbRA
  • Instant detection of false IDs with QAPLA

Including cartels and international gangs exploiting jurisdictional boundaries.

Identification and location without violating juvenile protections.

RTIS and UMbRA for parole/probation enforcement, contraband investigations, and facility entry-point screening.

Built-In Guardrails

Biometrica's systems are governed by technical and ethical guardrails, including:

  • No mass surveillance
  • No biometric access, transmission, or storage
  • No access to UMbRA by the public or commercial entities.
  • All access restricted to trained, credentialed law enforcement users.
  • Relevance-based, human-reviewed alerts — no automated enforcement decisions.
  • Every access and alert fully logged for legal integrity.
  • No full-body imaging
  • Human-in-the-loop decision-making
  • Immutable audit trails
  • Relevance filters, customized by permissible use, client need and context.

We don't just comply —
we intentionally limit ourselves to safeguard civil liberties.

RTIS Workflow for Gang Units

RTIS sensors detect faces passively (no video recorded), transmit cropped images securely for comparison.

Images run against the UMbRA database — the largest 100% law enforcement-sourced, privacy-compliant, real-time dataset of its kind.

Biometrica's Rapid Alert Center (24/7/365) conducts human analysis to filter out false positives and determine relevance.

Relevant, human-verified alerts are issued within 30–60 seconds to appropriate gang investigators.

Identifying a Partial Face

Our tools can identify individuals even when only part of the face is captured, as long as the image contains enough measurable facial points for comparison. Key advantages:

  • Works with masks, hoodies, partial angles, or obstructed images
  • Algorithm isolates and analyzes available facial landmarks (eyes, brow structure, nose bridge, cheekbones, etc.)
  • Human analysts validate every match before any alert is issued (for RTIS)
  • Ideal for gang investigations, where offenders frequently conceal their faces
  • Reduces the incidence of “dead-end” leads
  • A partial, depending on the image, can be used to match against sensors

Caveat: It depends on the quality of the image and the angle, etc.
